Our Town

Our Town is about a small town in New Hampshire but in reality can be about any small town or neighborhood in any state in the country. The year is 1901 but, again, it can be at any time...even 2008! It is about people, and lives and love and death and how life always goes on. Our Town takes us through the lives of two families their hopes, dreams, and how those two families touch on many more families and on the circle of life goes.

With all the modern conveniences and means of communication we have at our fingertips today it is refreshing to go back and see how the very same issues we face today were dealt with then...without computers, cell phones, blackberries and the abundance of "improved" communication devices we have today. With this production I hope to be able to include as many people from the Town of Shandaken as possible to make this truly "Our" Town. It is my hope that many of the political leaders and citizens will become a part of this play. There are many touching moments and many poignant reminders of life and love in this story and the one basic truth that is as timeless as life its self...We need to live each day to it's fullest and enjoy all that living has to offer.
